The U.S. vs John LennonDirectors: David Leaf and John Scheinfeld Imagine if the death of one of world music's most favourite sons was part of an American political conspiracy. The U.S vs John Lennon is a documentary which follows the Beatle in the time of his short life, when he went from a famous musician to a very influential anti-war activist.
This interested and intoxicating movie features Lennon and his much loved (and equally quirky) wife, Yoko Ono, and how the two hippy musicians used their fame and fortune to promote peace. While it seems these days that every musician behind a microphone feels the need to voice their political views and concerns, in Lennon's time, when America was at war in Vietnam, the use of that kind of power was not as acceptable. It was however, far more influential. This documentary also features fellow war activists and journalists from that time who recall the era very well, including Black Panther founder Bobby Seale and one of America's top journalists Walter Cronkite. Both have interesting perspectives on Lennon. The U.S. vs John Lennon is worth your time, and is a refreshing addition to the documentary section of your DVD library, because unlike many docos these days, this one is full of facts rather than one man’s opinion.
Now... hopefully the US Govenment won't run a secruity check of DVDetails and shut us down because we've supported the movie. Verbatim: In a word: Fantastic |

As it said in his song: "All we are saying… is give peace a chance", a song which Lennon claimed saved lives and a song which its alleged scared the US Government so much that Lennon became the centre of FBI investigation. Could it be that there was a government conspiracy to have him removed from the US? Could the US government even have wanted – or planned – his assassination?
